Even Moore Full of Shit
by Lee

Forbes Magazine has found even more fallacies in Michael Moore’s Bowling for Columbine, lies that have not yet been reported in either the major media or the blogosphere, and these lies are WHOPPERS.

A Letter from Osama
by Lee

Osama bin Laden’s Letter to the American People has been published in the UK paper The Observer.  Since a rotting corpse cannot compose a letter I will leave it to the reader to determine for himself where this particular screed came from.  Nonetheless it is useful as an explicit statement of the Islamofascist position.

Note two things as you read it:

  • The way the authors pander to the American left by mentioning such environmental concerns as Kyoto.  “You have destroyed nature with your industrial waste and gases more than any other nation in history. Despite this, you refuse to sign the Kyoto agreement so that you can secure the profit of your greedy companies and*industries [sic].”
  • The way that this text could be virtually lifted verbatim from any speech by Chomsky or any other representative of the hate-America left.

It must make America’s lefties so proud to share the same views as terrorists who wish their destruction.

Goring the Health Care System
by Lee

I got an email from the guys over at Liberal Oasis earlier today asking me if I had seen Gore’s latest comments on health care, which I had not.  They kindly inclued a link to a Gore interview in the Washington Post.  It’s pretty typical Gore, sounding like he’s saying a lot while actually saying absolutely nothing.

Geography in the UK
by Lee

Earlier this week we were all thrilled to learn that most American students couldn’t locate Iraq on a map.  Now the UK paper The Telegraph has a great article about how the greeen agenda has taken over geography instruction in UK schools.

Geography teachers are brainwashing children with a politically correct “green agenda” while failing to give them the basic facts of the subject, according to a new study.

Pupils are leaving secondary school knowing “everything about pollution but nothing about rivers or mountains”, say researchers from Canterbury University.

Their study found that geography lessons are dominated by “environmental values and attitudes” and do not provide pupils with enough information to form their own views. The new “greenwash” approach is being promoted by the Government, exam boards and geographical associations, the study claims.

Tina Fitzgibbon, a mother of three, from Hemel Hempstead, Herts, said that she was “appalled” to discover that one of her sons, in the early years of secondary school, could talk about “renewable energy sources” and “population issues” but could not point to Egypt, or even Africa, on a map.

The sad thing is that this is exactly the same type of agenda that is taught here in California schools.  The kids don’t know shit about the world, but they’re indoctrinated on how it should be run.  Pathetic.

Ever wonder what life is like outside the ivory tower enclave in which you find yourself?  Take a look at life in the trailer park.

Eye Luv Tu Spel
by Lee

At least twice over the past couple of days someone has accessed my site by doing a web search for “turret syndrome barbie.” It took me a minute to figure out what the hell turret syndrome was—tourette’s syndrome.

Which still begs the question, how the hell did “turret syndrome barbie” return a hit for this website?

Canada, Then and Now
by Lee

Ah, Canadians.  First they make every possible effort to undermine the US war on terror.  Then, like a 14 year old boy asserting his individuality by rebelling against his parents, they engage in rampant anti-Americanism.  And today, some jackoff cabinet member refers to President Bush as a “moron.”

In the spirit of Canadian cooperation, I present a graphical retrospective on how the US viewed Canadians during WWII, and how we should be viewing them now.

Obese Michael Jackson Fans Attack Tom Daschle’s Family!
by Lee

Dave Konig has a brilliant commentary on the news of the day.  Here’s my favorite paragraph.

Finally, a fat kid in the Bronx is suing McDonald’s for, um, making him fat. The kid is 15 and tips the scales at a whopping 400 pounds. That’s a lot of Muppet Baby Happy Meals. The kid says he’s eaten at McDonald’s every day for his entire life. “I normally order the Big Mac, fries, ice cream or shake — I like to super-size my orders,” the kid says, that last detail an exquisite example of a classic comedic device: stating the obvious.

Read the whole thing, and make sure you don’t have a mouth full of milk while doing so.

San Francisco… EXPLAINED!
by Lee

Medical science has come up with an explanation for why people from this part of the country hold the disturbing views that they do.

UPI: Marijuana use linked to schizophrenia

I’ve heard it said a million times, now it’s been proven.  Liberalism is a mental disease.

Whither the Hot Chicks
by Lee

I just saw a new commercial for McDonalds featuring Venus and Serena Williams.

Does anyone remember when they used to put attractive women in commercials?  I’m just curious.

GOP Pork
by Lee

I’ve been wanting for a couple of days now to comment on the Republican pork added to the recent homeland security bill.  I just discovered a great column in the Washington Post by David S. Broder, whose opinion on the subject is largely the same as my own.  I don’t like the idea of any last-minute riders being attached to the homeland security bill at all—it’s a disgrace to the memories of those who died on 9/11 that this legislation should be used as a payback for campaign contributors.  I don’t have a problem with this practice in general, it’s how stuff gets done.  But to do it on this bill is, to me, quite tasteless.

That being said, were these riders indeed special interest paybacks?  Or are they valid riders that simply should have been voted on separately?  Let’s take a look.

Republican Foot-Shooting
by Lee

Arthur Silber has an interesting post on a Republican Congressman and his mission to rooot gays out of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.  From the Rocky Mountain News:

U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo led a handful of Republican congressmen Tuesday in asking President Bush to pressure Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America to be less accepting of gay and lesbian mentors.

Bush is an honorary co-chairman of the organization.

The nine representatives said the national anti-discrimination rule forces local Big Brothers and Big Sisters affiliates to accept gay and lesbian mentors, without giving parents a say.

This is exactly the kind of crap that is going to cause the Republicans to get their asses handed to them in 2004.  They were not elected in the recent elections to restrict abortion, or interfere with the Big Brothers/Sisters program.  They were elected to (a) fix the economy, and (b) keep us safe from terrorists.  That’s it, end of list.  If they fail to do either of these things they’re going to be in trouble with voters.  If they fail to do either of these things, and they can be shown to have been more concerned with pressing matters like whether there are gays in Big Brothers/Sisters, the results could be catastrophic for them.

The Power of the Blogosphere
by Lee

Wired has a story about how the blogosphere is holding Michael Moore’s feet to the fire.  This is one of the greatest things about the blogging phenomenon.  When a guy has an idea and cannot impart it to others he’s just a guy with an idea.  By publishing that idea on a blog it stands a chance of being seen by more people.  And when other blogs link to that story, that idea can quickly reach a mass audience, where it is critiqued and expanded upon.  Prior to the advent of the blogging world there was no way to hold a dumb shit like Michael Moore accountable for his drivel.  Now his nuts are wedged in a vice, and the world is a better place for it.

More Gun Control Successes
by Lee

According to the L.A. Daily News, Los Angeles leads the country in murders, followed by New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Philadelphia.  Strangely enough, all of these cities (and the states in which they are found) have draconian gun control laws.  Since we all know that gun control is an effective means of keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, how are these corresponding murder rates possible?
