No freaking way!

WTF?

A shadowy lobby group which pushes the case that global warming is a real threat is being funded by the taxpayer and assisted by the BBC.

Huh? What’s that all mean? Well, it means this:

The little-known not-for-profit company works behind the scenes at international conferences to further its aims.

One of its key supporters headed the official investigation into the so-called “Climategate emails”, producing a report which cleared experts of deliberately attempting to skew scientific results to confirm that global warming was a real threat.

Another scientific expert linked to the group came forward to praise a second independent investigation into the Climategate affair which also exonerated researchers.

Set up with the backing of Tony Blair, then the Prime Minister, and run by a group of British MPs and peers the organisation, Globe International, started life as an All Party Group based in the House of Commons.

It is now run as an international climate change lobbying group flying its supporters and experts club class to international summits to push its agenda. Last year, it said, it spent around £500,000 flying its supporters to these meetings.

Emphasis mine. Read that again: people that are lobbying government in favor of AGW were important players in both of the shams that exonerated the unscientific and criminal behavior of the AGW cultists exposed by the East Anglia Climategate scandale. The rest of the story is about how this group of people is using the BBC and their government connections to get massive quantities of money to lobby others in government to favor their AGW agenda, for profit of course. This whole AGW/green scam is about collectivism writ large, but on the way the people pushing it plan to make themselves a shit load of money doing so. And in return we will get nothing but misery and government control of energy, which allows them thus to control us peasants.

At least the fucking oil companies produce a product that is giving us something in return. These crooks are just redistributing wealth created by others, in a grand scheme to give themselves incredible power over our lives, and stealing as much of it for themselves as they can. And in the process they have no problem pretending to do impartial analysis to conclude their scam, despite all the evidence to the contrary, is legit. Heh!

Obligatry “Earth Day” post

Have at it. Seriously, I do not feel like rehasing the whole ordeal about how these people are really just watermellons - scratch the surface of a greeny, and find a died in the wool red commie eugenist- so I will just put this post up, with this video that gave me the chills, to let you vent about this meaningless and totally idiotic day on our calendar.

I screamed too at the end of this video because it reminded me of this:

Happy Earth Day, or something…

Update: I decided to add this before some moron made the point that I want to destroy the world in pursuit of a profit - as if I do not need to breath the same air, drink the same water, and live in the same world as the rest - to clarify that I am all for a clean environment. I do that by always picking up my trash, and sometimes that of others whom you can immediately tell are your usual leftard, teaching my son to love and respect the earth, the environment, and to always do sensible conservation to maintain it, and to in short practice this, and not just preach. What turns me off about the entire environmental movement is that this bunch of creeps are all died-in-the-wool communists pushing that agenda under the guise of environmentalism. The proof is out there after a century of communism that nobody is worse to the environment that these communists.

Just like the scream about fiscal responsibility when it’s a cudgel to beat up their opposition, then set new records in depravity when they control the purse strings, or scream about illegal wars and the murder of innocents, for profit nevertheless, when they are not in power, only to turn a blind eye when they do far, far worse, this is all a ruse. A means to get to an ugly end nobody would go along with but for these lies and faux concerns. It’s the vile and evil things they believe in and actually are trying to get that turn me off, not the need for a clean environment. Watermelons are evil. That’s the point.

Can you tell they are lying scum?

No? Remember the donkeys telling us GWB’s government was in bed with the oil companies when gas prices was flirting with the high $3.00 a gallon amounts? Have a look at this video for a refresher and the reaction now that we are flirting with gas at $5.00 a gallon....

Let me repeat the question: where is the MSM on this now that prices are racing to $5.00 a gallon? Our economy is getting hammered by these gas prices, which combined with the devaluation of the dollar and the disastrous economic conditions the last 4 years of demcorat control of federal government spending, are causing massive inflation in basic necessities like food, and what’s the MSM saying? That high gas prices are AWESOME! Why? No, not because the Obama admin is in bed with the oil companies, which they sure as hell are if a price hike means that when Bush is president, but because it will force people to take the crappy, inefficient, and politically bullshit, green economy as something good?

What a bunch of scumbags these loser shillers in the MSM are.

We Know You

Every time Walmart tries to open a store in a poor neighborhood, a bunch of well-meaning wealthy people object to it.  Their argument ... I think ... is that bringing jobs and cheap goods to poor neighborhoods is somehow a bad thing (Penn and Teller did a great episode on this some time ago; you really should watch it).  Funny enough, the poor people who live in these areas really don’t have a problem with jobs and cheap goods.

Reason has been covering a similar incident from the “we know what’s best for you” Left in Jamaica Plans, a largely Hispanic neighborhood of Boston:

For 47 years, the Hi-Lo grocery store provided J.P. residents with staple items and a vast stock of Latin American products. But when Knapp Food group, the Massachusetts-based owners of Hi-Lo, decided that they had had enough of the supermarket business, they pulled out of Jamaica Plain, shuttered a local landmark, and negotiated a 20-year lease with Austin, Texas-based grocery giant Whole Foods.

You can guess what happened next.

Whole Foods, of course, is a bete noire of the Left right now because their owner—while stocking organic food and compensating his employees generously—opposes unions and opposed Obamacare (Balko has posted a hilarious guide to creating a lefty-protest-proof store).  Mackey’s employees are happy, his customers are happy—but because he does not have correct views on unionization and healthcare, he’s evil.

You really have to read the entire article from Reason.  It’s filled with all kind of over-educated fact-free pontification from activists.  They are so completely wrong on everything—gentrification, the quality of Hi-Lo, the needs of the community—that it’s almost laughable.

And it gets even stupider.  Balko flagged a blog from a liberal who just moved into the neighborhood.  He wrote a piece opposing Whole Foods and his website was flooded with long-time local residents disagreeing with him.

His response?  He shut off comments.

We sometimes talk about the intellectual insularity of the Left, but you will rarely find as perfect an illustration as we are seeing in this Boston neighborhood.  The economists tells us Whole Foods isn’t hurting the neighborhood, the employees tell us they like working for Whole Foods, the residents say the want a Whole Foods.  Whole Foods is exactly the kind of business the Left should applaud.

But they have their point of view—Whole Foods bad, local businesses good.  And nothing and no one will be allowed to challenge this received truth.

Yes, I am gloating

News like this is music to my ears. As long as the members of the DNC propaganda arm of the MSM suffer financial losses and dwindle in power, it gives me hope that Americans have had enough of the constant shilling and often outright lying to help the collectivsts and their depraved causes.

The New York Times Company reported a sharp drop in net income in the first quarter as the print advertising market remained stubbornly depressed for newspapers. The company said net income fell 57.6 percent to $5.4 million, compared with $12.8 million in the quarter a year ago. The weakness in print advertising, coupled with an unexpected drop in revenue at About.com, led to earnings of 4 cents a share before special items are excluded, compared with 8 cents a share in the period a year ago. Revenue for the quarter dropped 3.6 percent to $566.5 million. Total advertising revenue declined 4.4 percent, but the performance by advertising sector varied widely. At The New York Times Media Group, which includes the namesake paper, NYTimes.com and The International Herald Tribune, the decline was 1.9 percent.

Here is hoping it gets even owrse for you bastards. At a minimum this is some tiny payback for straddling us with Obama.

The next time some libtard tells you that the corporate world is in bed with republicans…

Point out that the facts don’t back that lie up and that the big corporations know the party that will help them rake in the cash while giving them all those evil loopholes moonbats go bonkers over are the donkeys. Don’t expect the MSM regulars to say anything: they are usually too busy covering for the crooks in this administration, but the WSJ has the scoop.

General Electric Co. reported a 77% increase in first-quarter earnings, lifted by marked improvement at its GE Capital financing arm and gains at most of its industrial units. The company also boosted its quarterly dividend by a penny to 15 cents. The move marks GE’s third dividend increase in the past year, although the payout remains well short of GE’s 31-cent dividend from before the financial crisis and economic downturn.

“Our environment continues to improve and get better,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Jeff Immelt on a call with analysts, noting that the restructuring of GE Capital was ahead of plan while the quarter saw a record backlog of orders for its industrial products and services.

See that bolded section above? That’s corporate speak for “Them donkeys are helping rig the game so we can send jobs overseas, rake in big cash from both government subsides and sales, and avoid paying taxes in the US - which usually really means they avoid making their consumers pay taxes - while squashing anyone that could compete with us, and they do it for peanuts on the dollar”. Obama didn’t make Immelt a member of his Czar entourage for nothing. That billion dollars he wants to raise for the 2012 campaign is going to come from big unions and big corporations like GE, which love how the government helps them squash the competition - with the consumer losing out all the time - in return for cash. And GE isn’t the only one they do this for. They made the tax payers bail out the unions and turned General Motors into Government Motors for a reason. Now they want to sell off GM stock, at a big loss for the tax payers to boot. Maybe that move is so the GM execs can then start raking in big money and donate big money, right in time for the 2012 race, since when GM is no longer owned by the Obama Admin, it becomes free to hand out huge pay raises and bonuses to the GM execs again. I don’t buy the story that they are panic selling because it will be good for the tax payer.

The next time some moron tells you how the republicans are the party in bed with corporate America, remember and remind them that corporate America, those mega-billion dollar giant companies, are always friends with demcorats. That’s not a coincidence or a fluke, but precisely because those large corporations know, not just who is for sale and whom they can get to write laws that let them avoid taxes or competition, but that demcorats love the relationship between big government and big industry. It’s one of the mechanics behind the whole government planned economies bullshit you get in collectivists governments. Look how well it worked for the USSR.

Why I Hate Democrats

If you ever needed an illustration of why, while I hate the Republicans, I really fucking hate the Democrats, I give you this:

The lies are so egregious that Polifact gave them the coveted pants on fire rating.  This is pure scare tactic, nothing more, nothing less.

What’s costing the government so much

I posted recently about how the problems we have right now are caused because government has simply been spending too much, not because, as the leftiods will tell scream at you, government isn’t taxing us enough. In fact, I pointed out that at the current rate of spending, they are going to have to sock it to the middle class, and sock it to them hard. Of course, the leftists will deny that and lie about how they can confiscate enough from the “rich”, but the key here is what will qualify as rich so they can steal enough cash from the people.

Is it April first today?

That’s what I thought when I saw that WaPo’s “Outlook” section had an article today - April 18th, tax day 2011 - by Walter Mondale of all people, entitled ”How to Raise Taxes Without Losing Votes”. Walter Mondale? The moron that lost in a landslide to Ronald Reagan in 1984 after he got caught telling his VEEP on a mike they didn’t know was on how they were going to tax our asses off when they won? That Walter Mondale? He is giving advice on how to make taxes election year gold? My guess is that he is going to propose more class warfare rhetoric and meaningless platitudes despite his advice to donkeys to “In particular, avoid generalities, and clearly link taxes to addressing concrete national needs”, something I would love to see the left try after the fiscal discipline displayed by the demcorats over the first two years of the reign of Obama. That’s going to be a hoot.

But I had to laugh my ass off when Mondale tried to make the argument that he had lost the election but won the argument against Reagan, because Reagan was forced to raise taxes anyway. Well sure Walter, but ignore the fact that Reagan had to allow congress to raise taxes because when they saw that his tax cuts had spurred some massive economic growth and had set the economy on fire, raising government income drastically, they tripled if not outright quadrupled their spending, mostly on the expansion of the welfare state, leaving no other option but to hike taxes. And that’s where we are today. The left has known that despite the fact that almost 50% of Americans don’t pay taxes, taxation, no matter how it is sold by the marxists class warfare mongers, pisses those that work instead of just vote for a living, off.

But please Walter, carry on. And I so hope demcorats follow your advice. Tell the American people that you have promised the impossible and without confiscating most of, if not all our wealth, can’t deliver. Even in the short term. Because that’s the truth. Man, this one sure as hell was one funny April fools joke of an article.

Kloppenburg crashes & burns.

It’s official: Kloppenburg loses vs. Possner despite a nationwide mobilization by unionists and donkeys all the way up to the WH, Kloppenburg fails to steal the election. The move not to report a whole town and let the donkey hang themselves with jst enough cheater votes, whether preplanned or not, was brilliant. Sure there will be a recount, but as of now this is how it stands:

MADISON, WI – With the submission of the Milwaukee County canvass report, the Government Accountability Board has received the results of the Supreme Court election as certified by all 72 Wisconsin counties. The results as certified by each county indicate that David T. Prosser received 752,323 votes and Joanne F. Kloppenburg received 745,007 votes. Pursuant to law, the Board may not certify the official statewide results at this time. By law the Board may not certify statewide results until either the passage of the deadline for filing a recount or the completion of a recount.

The deadline for filing a recount request is Wednesday, April 20 at 5:00 p.m. The difference of 7,316 votes represents a margin of 0.488%. State law provides that a recount petition involving a margin of 0.5% or less does not require a filing fee. A request for a partial or full recount of the 2011 election for Supreme Court Justice is within that margin and would not require a filing fee. If the difference were more than 0.5% but less than 2%, the petitioning candidate would be required to pay a fee of $5 per ward involved in the recount. There are 6,906 voting wards in the state.

The margin of victory is just to big to overcome with even 2 or 3 trunks full of “suddenly found ballots”, so I doubt this goes the other way. However, considering the amount of money & effort by the unions, and the likely cheating by the left to try to close the gap, this is a huge victory for Walker and what he is doing. There might yet be hope for America if we are willing to stop these crooks from raping the tax payers of WI over a “negotiating table”.

Of course, here in CT it is starting to look like our governor lied when he said he would lay off union state workers if he couldn’t get concessions from them, and there is even tlak now that this is all a giant ruse to keep people distracted until the heavy taxe increases in his new bill go into effect. It seems like my state was the only one to actually double down on a surfire losing hand. Damn.

Romneycare shows future for Obamacare

And the future looks like it portends shitty quality and access of care, at much higher prices for all the peasants and fools.

Taxpayers now spend $2.5 billion more on our state’s health care budget. The direct cost of Romneycare has gone from less than $100 million a year to at least $400 million — and even that number is suspect. But we do know we’ve spent more than $35 million in a single year on health services for illegal immigrants, and tens of millions more on illegal, unallowable or outright bogus claims. If you want to know why Romneycare’s costs keep rising, check out this simple statistic from the Patrick administration: In 2006, 85 percent of the insured in Massachusetts got their coverage through private group coverage at work. Today that’s down to 79 percent. Meanwhile the percentage on the MassHealth dole has doubled, and more than 150,000 people are now subsidized through Commonwealth Care. Romneycare supporters like Brandeis University health policy professor Stuart Altman brag that “the basic reason for the reform was to extend coverage, and on this, we have done amazingly well.” But that’s only if you use the phrase “extend coverage” to mean “the government forced you to buy your own insurance.”

Higher costs, rampant abuse by locals & illegals, bigger annual state budget deficits, and from people that are actually subjected to Romneycare that I know, this all comes with reduced access – longer wait times caused likely from the government’s need to ration - and lower quality to boot. Of course, those that still support Romneycare, and Obamacare as well for sure, will tell you that it’s the people’s right to get free healthcare!

Those of us that know better understand there is no right to healthcare, this isn’t free, and in general we all lose when we try to do stupid shit like this, because universal “free” healthcare not only forces the bureaucrats running the show – if you go by the people you meet in other government functions they will be uncaring and mad with their own power, making insurance company employees look like angels - to ration and lower the quality of care to keep their ballooning costs down, but seems to hinge on forcing everyone to pay into a system that sucks and they would rather avoid. Well in the case of who pays and is subjected to the shitty care, the politicians in MA as the ones in DC have exempted them and many of their key constituencies – the ones that donate big time- from such requirements the rest of us peasants will have to deal with.

Don’t worry, Obamacare will be the one government bureaucracy that will reverse the trend and actually do more good for less. Obama, the donkeys, and the CBO – working of one of the most blatantly rigged scores delivered by proponents ever - said so! Pay up suckas!

This is why the demcorats have been so resistive to cuts

Not because they think that these cuts will hurt anyone, well maybe their power and base, or because these cuts are bad for the American people or economy, but because it’s the government’s money anyway and they want more of it. From the start the left’s strategy has been to spend so ridiculously much money they don’t have, under whatever stupid excuse they could use to sell this idiotic plan to the people, that the only way to make up the difference was to force tax hikes on everyone. And if you doubt that’s the plan, just read the story.

President Barack Obama will lay out his plan for reducing the nation’s deficit Wednesday, belatedly entering a fight over the nation’s long-term financial future. But in addition to suggesting cuts—the current focus of debate—the White House looks set to aim its firepower on a more divisive topic: taxes. In a speech Wednesday, Mr. Obama will propose cuts to entitlement programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, and changes to Social Security, a discussion he has largely left to Democrats and Republicans in Congress. He also will call for tax increases for people making over $250,000 a year, a proposal contained in his 2012 budget, and changing parts of the tax code he thinks benefit the wealthy.

If the government confiscated all the money from the rich they could finance this charade for maybe a year. This is about the left’s plan to go after small businesses and people trying to get rich, and to thus force them to deal with whatever the powerbrokers want from them before they get the loopholes needed to stop paying the graft passed. As Obamacare and everything else in the last 2 years have proved, the left’s strategy is to straddle us all with as many ridiculous taxes or costs as they can, then give their friends and cash cows exceptions. The suckers pay morem, the ones connected to the left enhance the left’s power to avoid paying. This is more of the same in the works. The corruptocrats believe it’s their money, and they want it NOW!

The left is pretending to need hike taxes to “protect” the middle class. What a pile of shit. This is sure to force people to move their wealth into shelters and away from the grubby hands of the crooks in DC, but then again, the crooks are fine with that too. They are more interested in a large beholden class that depends on them for subsistence, than they are in actually fixing either the debt/deficit situation or the economy. With the left it is always about increasing its power and thus government, first, second, and always. Tax cuts and smaller government are anathema to them. Don’t buy this umpteenth attempt to screw us all over as anything but.

Lesson in this tragedy..

The Dutch are super strict about guns. Seems that didn’t make a difference. We are always told about how this can never happen in Europe where they do not allow gun ownership to the citizens. Tragic event, but the lesson is that banning guns will not tpevent evil people from getting them and using them on those that follow the law.

All The Porn That’s Fit to Eat

The Republican Party occasionally has its uses.  But there are times, particularly when they push a Religious Right agenda, that I want to start smacking them upside the head with the nearest garden implement.  Viz:

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) has sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder demanding more federal obscenity prosecutions. The letter was co-signed by more than 100 other senators and congressmen

The most recent federal obscenity prosecution—that of John Stagliano—was an expensive fiasco that was dismissed at trial for a “woefully insufficient” case.  Apparently, we should be spending a lot more time on such pointless wastes.  Because we all know that our society is crumbling under the pernicious effect of ... what?

The rise of the Internet in the mid-1990s made porn increasingly accessible to the point that today, just about everyone can watch people have sex damn-near any time of day, in every conceivable manner, in in every possible vareity. If Hatch and his colleagues are right, over the last 15-20 years, we should have seen a massive increase in the social ills listed in Hatch’s letter.

And in fact, every single one of these problems are trending in the opposite direction. And it isn’t even close:

Sex crimes against children: Down 53 percent between 1992 and 2006.

Abortion: The abortion rate has dropped by about 25 percent since 1993.

Teen pregnancy: In 2009, teen pregnancy hit its lowest rate in the 70 years that the federal government has been tracking the statistic.

Divorce: The U.S. divorce rate is at its lowest level since 1970.

Domestic violence: The rate of reported domestic violence in the U.S. dropped by more than half between 1993 and 2004.

Rape: The forcible rape rate in the U.S. has dropped from 41.1 per 100,000 people in 1990 to 28.7 in 2009. That latter figure is also an all-time low.
These numbers are overwhelming. What’s more, there are at least a couple of studies suggesting that the widespread availability of pornography is partially responsible for some of these trends, especially the drop in reported rapes.

Here’s a question for the floor: are the anti-porn crusaders lying or just lazy?  Are they aware of the above statistics and just ignore them in their crusade to save us from the dread menace of bare breasts?  Or do they honestly think things are worse than ever and are calling for a course of action from the Justice Department without bothering to check if a problem exists first?  I’m not sure which is worse.

Now to be fair, the letter is signed by several liberal Democrats, including the increasingly idiotic Diane Feinstein and Amy “Frau Blucher” Klobuchar. But that alone should tell you how stupid this is. Religious Right loonies and neofeminists are combining to demand an initiative from the Justice Department.  Is there any possible way they could be suggesting something wise?  Especially when almost every “study” they cite to support their claims is categorical bullshit?

(While I’m on the subject of sex crimes and bullshit, I’ll take the opportunity to plug Maggie McNeill’s awesome blog.  McNeill is a former call girl and clearly smarter and better educated than about 99% of the people with letters after their name who write about prostitution, porn and sex.  Lately, she’s been debunking bullshit studies about sex trafficking, underage sex trafficking, AIDS in porn and other things.  The more you look into the supposed research backing up the supposed epidemic of sex crimes in this country, the more you realize that it’s not research at all; it’s puritanical advocacy.)

The porn grabbers are desperate.  The wave of sex crimes they thought internet porn would produce failed to happen.  The epidemic of broken marriages from internet porn failed to happen.  The epidemic of teen pregnancies and abortions failed to happen.  All they have is bullshit anecdotes and pseudo-scientific “studies” conducted by PR firms. They’re been reduced to sticking their fingers in their ears and saying, “Nah! Nah! Nah! Naked girlies are bad! I can’t hear you!”

Fuck ‘em.

The race in WI just got really interesting

Well Kloppenberg already declared victory yesterday as Hal’s post below shows, so revelations like this one are going to be problematic.

Madison - In a political bombshell, the clerk in a Republican stronghold is set to release new vote totals giving 7,500 votes in the state Supreme Court race back toward Justice David Prosser, swinging the race significantly in his favor. The Waukesha County clerk’s office has told state elections officials that they will be adjusting the vote totals to give incumbent David Prosser more than 7,000 new votes, said Mike Haas, staff attorney for the state Government Accountability Board. “Waukesha will be adjusting their vote totals by 14,000,” Haas said the Accountability Board was told. The numbers will add some 11,000 votes for Prosser and some 3,000 for Kloppenburg, he said.

It now seems clear to me that the despite their efforts and AP’s help to inform the demcorats what they needed to push for a win, they did not manufacturing enough new ballots to push the vote. Doesn’t mean they might no find a whole bunch that have not been counted yet under some stairs or in someone’s trunk, to push Kloppenberg over the line, but this new number putting Posner over 7500 votes ahead of Kloppenberg sure shifts the picture and makes the job real hard for the donkey machine. Even more problematic are revelations like this one, which immediately should raise massive suspicion with anyone that understand how unlikely this particular set of circumstances are.

On an estimated more than 10,000 ballots in Dane County, Wisconsin, where the state capital Madison is, voters selected only a pick in the Supreme Court race, while leaving even the hotly contested mayoral and county executive choices blank. That raises red flags for election experts like Scott St. Clair of the Freedom Foundation, a conservative think tank.

Really, 10K votes, all for Kloppenberg, and all only checking that vote, while ignoring the many other hotly contested races? Sounds like the new box of uncounted votes in the car trunk/under the stairs scenario didn’t include enough made up votes. Yet? Who knows, we are talking about demcorats here.
