How not to admit your guy sucks 101..

Claim the job of the President of the United States of America is too big for just one man to do! Because admitting you helped elect a novice, without any real world experience and a head full of stupid collectivist bullshit – which always will fail as soon as people that push this dumb ideology run out of other people’s money to steal – that also surrounded himself with like minded nincompoops, isn’t really the reason that he sucks at the job. Even the idiot whose intelligence they made fun of for 8 years straight, and then blamed for everything they could find or make wrong anywhere, to help this new genius community organizer be elected, didn’t have that problem. Go figure. Talk about dumbing down taken to a new level. I bet so many in the media are now having regrets, because they pushed this guy that then did what they wanted and promptly made them and everything they believe in look bad by showing it doesn’t work. So now, we basically have to say America is ungovernable, and the presidency is just to big a job for one man. What a joke. This would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

This is the exact same line that came out during the Carter admin after the “malaise” speech.  No matter how you slice it, the only way to interpret it is as a huge blinking sign that says “Incompetent”.

Funny I don’t remember any talk like this with Bush.  Is that a tacit admission that Bush was somehow more capable?

Both Carter and Obama suffer from the same issue - can’t make a fucking decision, though most likely for different reasons.

“Nuance” is great for some things, but when it comes to being POTUS, being “the decider” carries a lot more fucking weight.

IF the job is too big for one man, it’s because the government is doing too much.

Couldn’t have said it better myself Hal.

BINGO!

While I agree with Alex that this spin by the media is due to massive buyers remorse, there is a true argument to be made that the office of the presidency has grown to a size that MIGHT be too big for one man, but only as a result of all government growing too massive.  Rather then the solution being hiring some wunderkind who can handle the bureaucracy, the solution ought to be to reduce the number of things that the president is “responsible” for.

I will not argue the fact that government has simply grown too massive, and that the expansion has taken scary proportions in the last 2 years. But I simply don’t think it is as simple as saying that the reason the current moron in chief is doing an epic fail at running the office of the presidency, where the real job is to make though decisions and then delegate work, is because of that. Especially when his party had a complete lock on all 3 branches of government. The last guy in there had a government that for all intents and purposes was already grown far beyond anything needed or sustainable, and yet, even with the super hostile left telling us constantly how dumb he was and constantly undermining everything, he never, ever had them say stupid shit like they are doing now to cover for the inept guy they helped win the WH.

Rather then the solution being hiring some wunderkind who can handle the bureaucracy, the solution ought to be to reduce the number of things that the president is “responsible” for.

If we limit ourselves to only reducing government based on what the president is responsible for, we will not get much reduction IMO. It’s the wrong barometer to go by. Government restructuring and reduction should be based on the fact that the political class has drastically expanded their reach into every aspect of our lives, be it because stupid people let them or simply because they figured this was an awesome way of gaining more power, and that reach needs to be rolled back. Let government be responsible for the things it was supposed to be - defense, security, infrastructure, and uniformly enforcing laws of the land - and completely remove its ability to rig the game and choose who wins and who loses, and you can quickly see where we can have some massive cuts regardless of what the presidency is responsible for.

Besides, the point of my post is that these bastards always pretend the issue isn’t with the elitist tin gods they tell us are so smart because they are progressive twits, but with everything else. Let’s not lose track of that in our discussion about how bloated & wasteful these tin gods have made government.

No job is too big for one man if that one man knows how to manage.  I suspect Obama thinks himself indispensible and therefore won’t delegate properly to his subordinates.
