Lights from the Sky
by Lee

Ah, there’s nothing like a Memorial Day in Los Angeles.  The sunshine, the barbecues, the cloudless blue skies… and the police helicopter that’s been circling directly overhead for the past two hours, over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, shining its searchlight down on the neighborhood looking for some criminal who refuses to give up.

Maybe they should try banning guns like they did in San Francisco and crime will go away. Did they ever succeed at that?

With LAPD, choppers circling overhead is eligible for insert into the “death and taxes” category, especially in neighborhoods where there is ongoing gang activity. While they are indeed a major irritant to the law abiding public, they have proven for over three decades to be an asset to both survival and success for the LAPD, so don’t look for those helos to go away anytime soon.

Actually, that number isn’t the number of posts.  I’m not sure what it is.  But as of this writing I’m at 6990 posts, so I’m coming up on almost 7000.

Holy fuck!

If he (the suspect) was in LASD Sheriffs’ jurisdiction, he would have been caught already :)

Maybe it’s the guy that shot 3 people and carjacked a truck this evening?

Lee, drop the drink, walk outside, keep your hands up and assume the position. The chopper will be there in a few minutes.
