Shock of the Century

Oops.  If you’re a Republican and you liked Frasier, this is cause for concern.

Actor David Hyde Pierce - maybe best known for his role of Niles on “Frasier” - has come out of the closet after an article on CNN today that nonchalantly said:

Pierce got to Los Angeles in the early 1990s when his partner, actor-writer-producer Brian Hargrove, wanted to write for television. A short-lived Norman Lear series, “The Powers That Be” led to “Frasier.” And the rest is, well, history...

Just think of all them good church folk, laughin’ at a durn queer all this time.  Haw haw haw.  I bet this makes them sorta queer too, don’t it?  God damn queers anyhow.

I’m not gay, Guy......

I’m not even sure how this qualifies as news - so, he’s gay......BFD......

Is this really “news” to anyone?

Besides, you really need to get it through your little skull, that Christians don’t hate gays. What we hate is having their lifestyles shoved down our throats 24/7 and constantly having our 1st ammendment right to find their lifestyle abhorrent squelched.

Besides, it seems all them Christians in lovely red state Oregegon must hate them some fags too since they overwhelmingly voted down a gay marriage law.

It’s not our fault the government got involved in the marriage business for the purpose of screwing a few extra tax dollars out of people, but since they did, we damn well have a right to protest any attempt to bastardize a wholly religious ceremony.

Oh for goodness sake, didn’t everyone already know he was gay?

When was he ever in the closet?

Wow, who did we have to torture to get this info?

I honestly didn’t know, but then again, I never made it a point to find out about his private life--I just enjoyed his work on Frasier.  I guess it’s not surprising, but really, just because a guy is cultured, gifted in the arts, and articulate, doesn’t automatically denote “queer” status either (consider Kelsey Grammar, who had little trouble discussing his sex life with his wife on Howard Stern a few years back), although these days it seems to be more and more the norm.  From what I understand, DHP’s homosexuality has been something of an open secret in Hollywood for a while anyway.

Hopefully he came out on his terms and not due to some jackass at CNN wanting to give him liberal “street cred” by invading his privacy.

You’ve really gotta move out of the Castro! For most of the rest of America, it’s more like 0.1/.01

How are you required to accept homosexuality any more than someone else is required to accept your “christian” (because with a comment like that you are certainly no christian from my understanding of it) lifestyle?

David Hyde Pierce is gay? The next thing you are going to tell me is that the sky is blue.

I never thought about it one way or the other, and really don’t care.  I loved the show, loved his character, and still watch it every morning at 9:00 when I can.

And by “having their lifestyles shoved down our throats” you mean “existing.”

Fags getting married doesn’t shove it down your throat.  Bigots like you aren’t required to attend fag weddings.  Approval from the likes of you is neither desired nor required.

we damn well have a right to protest any attempt to bastardize a wholly religious ceremony.

Many churches perform gay marriages.  What about their first ammendment rights?  You don’t care about their rights do you?

You can take your ideas about homos, write them down, and fold them until they’re nothing but corners and shove the where the sun don’t shine.
