Taxes and Jobs

Reason.tv takes on California.  A must-watch.

Probably the most maddening trend of the last couple of years is watching politicians refuse to learn about job creation.  They keep borrowing and spending and it keeps not working.  And their response is to just keep trying the same old tactics.  Keynsians and their sympathizers insist this has to work at some point and, as it doesn’t, fall back on “it would be worse” arguments.  But every dollar borrowed by the government is a dollar not borrowed by a business.  And businesses aren’t spooked from investment by the economic situation; they’re spooked by the political one.

At some point, maybe somebody will try doing nothing.

I left CA. I do miss my friends and family. Other than that, I don’t miss it one bit, and I can always go back to visit. The weather can’t make up for everything, and you’ll probably get used to whatever climate you move to anyhow. I know I did.

Eventually states like CA will just be made up of people who tax themselves to death to pay for themselves. It’s funny not too long ago the blue powerhouses were bragging about how they pay for all the red states. Yeah, racking up massive debt, and now your ass hangs on the forced charity of other states that didn’t want your money in the first place.

The worst part is that the decent, hard-working opportunist type is not the only kind ditching the high-tax, insane-regulation liberal states. As a friend and I were discussing earlier this week, now the same retarded leftist asshole shitbag morons are starting to migrate to other states in herds so they can fuck them up too. It seems like they bring the same shit that has ruined places like California with them in their luggage to their new states. I’ll bet Seattle Outcast can speak of this.

A bunch of states, notably Texas, should put up signs at the state line that say:

ABANDON YOUR SOCIALISM BEFORE YOUR CROSS. WE DON’T WANT YOUR LEFTIST BULLSHIT TO DESTROY OUR STATE LIKE IT DESTROYED YOURS. VIOLATORS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY EXECUTED.

Wow, it must be nice to work in the private sector… your employer doing bad?  Protest, and threaten not to vote for someone.

Did you mean public sector? But I digress…

Socialism is a parasite. It cannot, by its very nature, create wealth. As with any parasite, it must find a strong host to feed off of. Now the host is dieing and still the parasite cries “MORE!!” Personally, I hope the parasite wins. Let the parasite gorge itself on more and more of the hosts’ lifeblood until the host dies or leaves. Then the parasites will have nothing to feed on but each other. Then maybe...finally...we can be rid of this parasite once and for all!

I am now convinced that with a few exceptions those attracted to public office no longer do so because they want to serve the people. Most do because they think they are the only ones that can get it right. Couple that with the leftist belief that government is the vehicle to mold society by, and we get where we are today. Unfortunately this isn’t the end of the road for this ideology yet, and what lies ahead is even worse. Our choices are grim. Our future grimmer.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head Alex.
