The World’s Greatest Stuffing Recipe

In case you haven’t finalized your Thanksgiving plans yet, here’s the stuffing I will be preparing.  My mom got this recipe from somewhere, and it’s been universally hailed by all who eat it as the greatest ever.  You should give it a try sometime.

Corn Bread
1 cup flour
1 cup corn meal
4 tspns baking powder
3/4 tspn salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 cup shortening

Mix all ingredients.  Bake at 450 for 15 minutes.

Turkey Stuffing
Make corn bread using recipe above.  Brown and crumble 1/2 lb. of Jimmy Dean sausage, any flavor.

In a large bowl crumble corn bread and add sausage.  Add 4 cups of crumbled dry bread.  Add enough hot water or chicken stock to moisten.  Add 1 tbspn salt, 1 tbspn pepper, 1 tbpsn sage.  Add 1 egg, slightly beaten, 3 tbspns melted butter, 4 chopped onions, 4 hard boiled eggs chopped, and 4 cups chopped celery.  Mix and let sit overnight.  Optionally add 1 cup beer to moisten instead of chicken stock.

Yummy stuff. :)
